Rehoboth Beach, Delaware – With a windfarm project racing ahead in Delaware’s coastal region, the first state in the Union is also set to become a trend-setter in the energy markets.
While the Associated Press reports offshore drilling for oil and natural gas have recently occupied the forefront of energy discussions, proponents of the wind farm say it offers more long-term energy independence than drilling. Read more

Send a message to the EPA before Friday, from Phil Gamache
November 25, 2008

Friday is the last day to voice your opinion on whether the the Environmental Protection Agency should regulate carbon dioxide pollution, the primary cause of the climate crisis. This is a big deal.
The EPA is taking public comment before making a ruling. I sent my message in and it will appear on the EPA’s website, and be part of the public record. Of course, special interests — like the oil and coal lobbies — are working overtime to defeat a positive ruling and have already gotten thousands of comments submitted in opposition. Submit your public comment to the EPA here: http://www.repoweramerica.org/epa/
Thanks you guys!
Greenery: Turn the ‘off-season,’ On, by Molly MacMillan
November 23, 2008
In my most recent cover story for a free news publication along the coasts of Delaware and Maryland targeted the younger audience, I spent some time finding out about the state and national parks in my area. As it turns out, there are some expanded priveledges and additional activities and accompany the slower shoulder seasons here on the Mid-Atlantic Coast.
‘Research’ for this assignment included drinking a few beers with fisherman at the Indian River Inlet and spending several afternoons visiting the wild ponies that live in Assateague Island National Seashore.
After all was said and done, I had a better knowledge of the possibilities that exist in my own back yard, but was a little ashamed because I hadn’t taken the initiative to learn about many of these areas on my own. (I didn’t even know Assateague was a National Park! I just thought it was just a place my dad used to take us kids so we could visit the ponies when my mom was studying for her master’s degree.)

Sky Tavern relies entirely on it’s volunteers, and is the biggest all-volunteer run ski program in the country, maybe the world. What we need most right now is volunteer snowboard instructors and volunteers for the adaptive program. So take advantage of the Green Rewards program and get out on the mountain!
November 20th and December 2nd at Scheels

Yes We Can, but will we?
November 13, 2008
For those that share the belief that, “Yes We Can,” last week was a victory. While it’s an historic moment and one that proves America to be a nation of more than just ideals, it comes at a time when the challenges that we face are greater than at anytime in our history. An economy based on alternative energy is our best way to deal with these challenges. If the new administration is going to bring about the change that we need, it will need broad public support and action that surpasses that of the election. Read more
