Summer Kickoff Party featuring Jelly Bread

Reno, Nevada – It’s time to get funky in celebration of summer and making our community a better place to live. On Saturday, May 22nd at Great Basin Brewery local funk/soul/rock band, Jelly Bread, will help kickoff summer and Life More Natural’s Action Rewards volunteer program. The show starts at 9pm with a $5 donation at the door, but come by early to learn how you can get rewarded for making Reno/Tahoe a better place to live.

Less than two years ago, Ben Johnson broke his neck while skiing in the World Telemark Skiing Competition in Girdwood, Alaska. Early on it seemed as though Ben would be lucky to walk, let alone ski again. Not only is he back on his skis and ready to compete again, he’s back to helping raise awareness and money for a disabled sports program in critical need. Read more
Skiing 50k for Big Brothers Big Sisters

Anchorage, Alaska – This Friday, Athletes With a Cause charity team member, Jesse Whitt, is going to ski 50 kilometers in an effort to raise $1,000 to send 3 kids from Big Brothers Big Sisters to ski camp. Prior to this winter, Jesse had never skied 50k. But that hasn’t stopped him from doing what he can to share the joy he gets from snowboarding with others a little less fortunate. Read more

Athletes With A Cause is a way for competing outdoor athletes to raise money for charity while we train and compete. In the past two years we’ve helped raise over $15,000, which has been used to purchase a bi-ski for Wasatch Adaptive Sports in Utah, sending kids to ski school in Nevada, and supporting school sports programs in Healy, Alaska. This winter we’re raising money to send kids to ski camp in Nevada and Alaska, but we need your help!

Well I have some bad news…I’m not going to be an Olympian. Yesterday I needed to get a podium and it didn’t happen…I’m pretty bummed. I’ve been skiing so well but for some reason the stars just weren’t aligned for that goal. The great thing is is that life goes on and I know there are many more life adventures and fun times to come. Read more

Hey KC Deane checking in. So the ski season in Tahoe started out a little slow though November, just riding a man mad ice patch at Boreal day after day while the PNW got pounded. I ended up getting a concussion mid-November and figured I would take some time off until after Thanksgiving.

Building Winter Athletes, a local nonprofit created to inspire and financially support a passion for skiing and snowboarding founded by LMN team member Kayla Fry, will be holding its Launch Party on Friday, December 18th. Head over to 2865 Sagittarius here in Reno at 6pm to enjoy appetizers and drinks, a silent auction, a live band and dancing into the evening.
